Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya, Boris Grinberg
Hokku-minus

These works are collaborative: Boris wrote hokku-minus texts, as he calls two line poems in style of Japanese poetry:

They are very much alike,
In their uniqueness.

Swiping with a word...
Beats in the chest. Maybe, echo?

Somebody's fairytale
Has a happy ending.

House was pulled down. Then
The key was lost...

Let you reach it.
Not by hand — by glance.

Good night.
Luck to wake up!

Through reflection on these short texts Tatiana created visual poems. Then the texts were hidden, so that only images remain vissible — the signs of missing letters, the sounds of the lost poems. Whiteness in the centres of the images supplanted words, the meaning is lost, it is dissolved in these leaves, this sand, these patterns on bark. However, it is saved — even can be restored — as nothing disappears, and the words are not erased, but hidden under opaque white layer on top of the letters. You can't see them, but knowing that they are there, you can try to correlate images with the above texts — even hoping for a correct correspondance.
